The Gujarat State Legal Services Authority, in conjunction with SAMA as technology facilitator, is organizing an Online Lok Adalat tentative to be held from 10th August – 9th September.
About State Legal Service Authority
The State Legal Services Authority was established under the Legal Services Authorities Act, of 1987 with a mandate to provide free and competent legal services to the underprivileged and disadvantaged sections of society to ensure that opportunities for securing justice are not denied to any citizen by reason of economic or other disabilities and to secure that the operation of the legal system promotes justice on a basis of equal opportunity to all.
About the Opportunity
This opportunity is for the role of Case Manager. Case Manager positions will be allotted to applicants on a first-come-first-serve basis. The role would require them to work on matters involving loans, family disputes, Bank Matters, Motor Accident Claims, Cheque Bounce cases, etc. Case Managers will be required to coordinate between Mediators and Litigants.
It’s worth noting that DE JURE (Data and Evidence for justice reform, part of the World Bank Group) is closely working with Sama as a knowledge partner to evaluate the effectiveness of Online Lok Adalats in India and conduct an impact assessment of this project on all stakeholders. It will be a great opportunity to be a part of the same.
Duration
Online Mediation Sessions will be primarily held between 11th August to 5th September 2023.
Eligibility
- Practicing advocates, Accredited Mediators, and All Law students who can devote time and dedication to access justice causes.
- Applicants must possess a stable internet connection.
- The 4-week-long commitment is expected.
