In an affidavit filed before the top court by Department of Personnel and Training, it was submitted allowing an extra attempt to candidates who missed the mains exam due to COVID, will lead to similar requests by other categories of students.
The affidavit also pointed out that a similar plea rejected by the High court and such extra attempt was not granted for chartered accountancy exam
Granting such an extra attempt will affect the chances of other candidates as it will increase number of candidates, it was submitted.
