About Delhi Judicial Services Examination

The Delhi Judicial Services Examination is considered to be one of the trickiest judicial services examinations. Delhi, being a centrally located place which doesn’t require hectic transfers like other states, makes it the first preference of judicial aspirants, which in turn increases the level of competition. The questions asked in DJS are tougher than other states’ examinations and focus on the analytical skills of the candidates.

The syllabus is divided into 4 broad categories, i.e Legal General Knowledge & English, Civil law-1, Civil law-2 and Criminal law, and the paper includes a total of 200 questions with a negative marking scheme of -0.25 for every incorrect answer.

Important note: In order to qualify for the prelims examination, general category candidates have to secure a minimum of 60% marks (i.e 120/200) and the reserved category candidates have to secure a minimum of 55% marks.
