Domino’s withdraws case in Delhi High Court against student who tweeted phone number of CEO over wrongly delivered non-veg pizza

In view of the same, Justice Anup Bhambhani directed Twitter to restore the student’s account and remove the concerned tweets if needed.

“In view of closure of the matter, Twitter Inc., is directed to revoke the suspension and to reactivate all Twitter handles relating to defendant No. 1 (Vinit). Upon such reactivation, if found necessary, the tweets that are subject matter of the present suit, the URLs would be deleted by him and/or by Twitter as may be required,” the single-judge said.

The High Court was hearing a suit filed by Domino’s seeking an injunction against Mumbai-based student Pratik Vinit.

As per the suit, Vinit had sometime in July last year ordered a meal from his residence at Antop Hill, Mumbai. Out of the three pizzas that were delivered to Vinit, one was non-vegetarian despite his order.

He then took to Twitter and tweeted his grievance and around December last year, posted the contact numbers of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) and the Chief Business Officer (CBO) of the outlet.

He defended his act saying that the same was done with a good intention so that other customers having unresolved issues could reach out to them.
