First Day Formalities, Infrastructure, First Impression

When I walked into the High Court, it was an incredible experience. When I first met AGA Mahendra, sir, he inquired about my course and university. The court was ready to begin, so everyone was very busy.

I was first anxious because I was just in my first year and had no prior experience. But during the first few days, my sir was really understanding and offered me a less demanding job.

Main Tasks

My main responsibility was to work with several government departments to coordinate the cases. I was instructed to cooperate with the relevant sections for the papers and documentation because the AGA will have a lot of matters. I also assigned drafting and research tasks.

The primary task may vary from one AGA to another. However, as they deal with government cases, coordination with government offices is usually necessary.

Work Environment

If you are someone who is really passionate about litigation, the working atmosphere is too fantastic. To visit courthouses and observe so many renowned attorneys is an exhilarating experience. After deciding to have a career in litigation, you can genuinely feel how life functions. We get to socialize with a lot of individuals and expand our network of legal contacts.

Although it wasn’t overly demanding or stressful, we still gained a lot of knowledge. Since there are so many cases, you get to handle the work linked to other subject matters as well. Every day is a process of learning something new.

Good things

Too many challenges will be presented to you, and you’ll start learning how to handle them at a young age. You will have knowledge of how government departments operate and expertise with litigation.

Bad things

I don’t think it has anything bad. Everything teaches you something or the other.

Accommodation & Conveyance to Office

Since my residence is in Bangalore it was not a problem for me. There are many reasonable PGs and flats for people who come from far away.

Stipend

There are a lot of small stalls outside the High Court we do get some amazing coffee and tea as well as fresh-cut fruits after work.
