How did you Apply?

I applied for this internship through an acquaintance.

First Day Formalities, Infrastructure, First Impression

On the fist day I was introduced to all the members working in the office . I got visit all over la office. The office is equipped with all the facilities that are required to efficiently work. It has a many rack full of books like a mini library containing bare acts and legal commentaries on almost all major acts.

After that I was allotted with the work on the first day itself. To review the counter and read judgements relating to property law cases. The timings of the office were 10 am to 6 pm.

Main Tasks

  • Prepared a brief case on matter pertaining to freedom fighters pension case and also for temple encroachment case.
  • Drafted the counters for the family dispute matter and also assisted to an advocate for the legal opinion related to property matter.
  • An appeal for the temple encroachment case with transferring the case to madras high court.
  • Since my senior advocate is an Assistant Solicitor General his main task is to deal with central government cases, so I got an opportunity to read and work on some high profile cases also.

Work Environment

The work environment that I had is very decent office with qualified and well talented advocates with adequate experience. We interns used to work for more time. Sometimes due to heavy work we used to leave the office late. But for that day meal and travel expenses are bared by the office itself.

Good things

The best part of my internship was that all the work allotted to me was reviewed and given feedback on, which helped me in knowing my mistakes and the ways of improving. Another thing that I liked the most is that every day Rajesh Sir himself interacted with the interns. The sessions with Sir were both educational and motivational.

Further, I got to learn how the law functions in real world by working on live cases. My internship experience at the Chambers was one of the most fruitful and enriching experience.

Bad things

No bad things about this internship.

Stipend

None.
