BA LLB, 3rd year
Name and address of the organisation
District Legal Service Authority, ADR Center Ambala City, Haryana.
Duration of internship
From: 01/02/2023 Till: 10/02/2023
How did you apply for the internship?
I filled out the application form by visiting the DLSA Office and submitted all required documents.
First day formalities, infrastructure, first impression
First-day formalities are generally taken care of by the officials already. The intern is given a brief about the work and institution. The infrastructure is new, tidy, and fresh. The first impression is pretty solid as the staff is warm and helpful.
Main tasks
There were 3 main tasks given to me on the first day.
1. Processing of application for Legal Aid.
2. Visiting the Front Office.
3. Visiting Mediation and conciliation centre.
Work environment
The work environment is very satisfactory. Interns are assigned to either the front office or work closely with the practising advocates on their cases.
Good things
The good working environment and the ever-helpful working staff make it one of the best places for an internship in district court Ambala and that’s a good thing about this internship as well.
Bad things
The only bad thing I came across was the singular opportunity given for an internship under DLSA. One cannot intern twice under DLSA.
Stipend/Certificate
The certificate is given by CJM after the internship period. No stipend.
Details about accommodation and commute
It is generally advised to do a DLSA internship in your nearest District court. As far as Ambala District Court is concerned, it is well connected with the bus services and the accommodation is easily available too.
Anything else?
For any query, you can visit the front office of the ADR centre of District Court Ambala, or you can call on the helpline number of the State Legal Service Authority, Haryana.
