How did you Apply?
You can mail your CV to the firm for attaining a position for an internship. I received back the response within 3 days. There was an interview with Varun Sir I got selected for the same.
First-Day Formalities, Infrastructure, First Impression
We get an introduction with sir. He explains to us our work and gives a brief detail about the working of the courts and some basic guidelines I have to follow. As it was a virtual internship didn’t meet physically but through video conferencing.
Main Tasks
The main task was doing extensive research and finding supportive judgements for the cases we are dealing with in the court. Analyzing both sides of the case and preparing an analytical report about the same.
Attending the online court sessions during our case hearing. Virtual consultation with clients and knowing the art of handling a client.
Work Environment
Though an online internship the work environment is friendly. Sometimes, sir, he would discuss my college life and discuss what I should do in future so as to become a good lawyer.
Good things
The best thing about the internship was the guiding hand of sir at every step. Even if I made some mistakes I was taught how to do them correctly instead of being scolded for them.
Receiving constant guidance was really a boon for law aspirants like us and Varun sir especially taught us the application of theoretical knowledge into practice. Sir even took a personal interest in explaining the minute details which enables us to win the case.
Varun sir has wide experience in dealing with litigation and corporate advisory work which inter alia includes Contract law, Employment laws, Real Estate laws, European laws, Service tax laws, Intellectual Property laws, and Insolvency and Bankruptcy laws among others.
Working under such a diversified lawyer inspired me to work hard and instilled motivation in me. Highly recommendable for law aspirants as they can learn a lot from sir.
Bad things
No such bad thing.
Accommodation & Conveyance to Office
It was an online internship. But accommodation in Delhi is very affordable.
Stipend
None.
Lessons learnt
Interning under a senior advocate was the biggest lesson. I learned the importance of being punctual and ready to accept any kind of assignment.
Keen observation was another key aspect which I learnt working under Sir. Working with such a qualified lawyer was a pleasure.
