First Day Formalities, Infrastructure, First Impression

On the first day, an introduction was happened with the team and the supporting staff of the firm, thereafter, I was allotted my desk and the work on the first day itself as there was no dearth of work at the firm. The law firm is equipped with all facilities that is imperative for not just the basic office requirement but an elegant work ambience that suits a corporate office.

The staff was very humble and supportive. Tea and coffee were provided free of cost throughout the whole working day and if one wanted to make one, they could do so. The interns were allotted their desk to work and were provided with the Wi-Fi, printer’s access and other basis facilities pertaining to their requirements. There were separate cabins for Associates and Partners.

Main Tasks

The tasks/ assignments/ work that I performed during my internship period are the following:

• Worked under Managing partner SK Jain, Adv. and Associate Stuti Jain;
• Researched intensively on various topics regarding alternate dispute resolution, principally arbitration;
• Assisted the team with the drafting of Statement of claims in the matter of Arbitration, preparing ad joinders and replication of the statement of defences;
• Read numerous case files, Judgements and assisted the team by providing various inputs at the ongoing cases;
• Completed multiple assignments provided by the team regarding the ongoing cases;
• Witnessed court proceedings at various district courts and learned the conduct and the work culture at courts.

Work Environment

Everyone at the firm, be it founder itself or the associates they are very humble and approachable and were able to clear even the silliest of doubts regarding the work allotted to you. However, the firm has a strict working environment with respect to tasks allotted to interns and deadlines for the same, which according to me is necessary also.

Good things

The best part of my internship was that I was told about my mistakes and also ways for my improvement, my every work was reviewed and I was given feedback on the same.

Further, I got to learn how the law functions in real world by working on live cases. My internship experience at the Chambers was one of the most fruitful and enriching experience so far.

Bad things

My period of internship went on with a plethora of learning experience and unimaginable moments which not just enriched my skills but also boosted my confidence. There is nothing bad about the internship.

Accommodation & Conveyance to Office 

There are numerous PG available plus, office is at a walkable distance from the Barakhamba road metro station (Gate no. 6).

Stipend

There was no stipend although, the skills that I got acquainted with was worth anything way more than any stipend. Further, cost incurred during the office work will by reimburse by the office on the very same day and in case of travelling for official purposes, office car is provided for the same.
