How did you apply for the internship?

I applied directly to the office with my resume as I was informed of an internship opportunity by the ‘Placement and Training Cell’ of my college.

First day formalities, infrastructure, first impression

I had to submit the permission letter from my college for the internship.

I was introduced to all the associates and the kinds of cases handled by them.

I was also informed of the tasks as an intern.

Main Tasks

I had to attend the court proceedings along with the advocates while making a note of them.

I had to study the ongoing cases of the advocates and also the adjudicated cases.

I also had to analyse them along with the provisions of law applicable in each case.

Work Environment

The work environment was professional.

Along with this, it was friendly and welcoming for the interns.

The associates and the juniors were helpful and used to guide and monitor us throughout.

Good Things

The office was well equipped.

The atmosphere was friendly and peaceful. In-spite of the fast paced work environment.

There was a kind of serenity and calmness among the lawyers as they went about it, which helped to start the day efficiently.

Bad Things

No bad things I can think about.

Details about accommodation and commute

I commuted to the office daily as I stayed in the same city.

Anything else?

I learnt the intricacies of cross examination and the vital role it plays in the proceeding by strengthening the case of the client if done efficiently.

I used to have a break time in the court canteen.

The food was delicious and pocket friendly.

It was a peaceful end to a stressful and hectic day at court.
