First Day Formalities, Infrastructure, First Impression

On the very first day, after interacting with all the members of the chamber working there, I observed a civil suit proceeding related to Order 37 and order 39 of the CPC and drafted an application for the non-presence of the witness in a case. Thereafter I was allotted the work on the first day itself as there was no dearth of work at the chambers.

Work Environment and Main Tasks

As an intern, the better you observe; the better you are able to learn and explore this legal journey. There were a lot of case files, legal documents, law report findings of the cases dealing with civil, and criminal matters, consumer courts, Lok Adalat, Workmen Compensation, check bounce cases and matrimonial disputes etc.

We were suggested to read at least two case files per day. During the whole training programme, you learnt how to deal with the clients, behave with other counsels, teach the clients for chief and cross-examination, interact with judges, and many more.

Good Things

I was the youngest junior or said intern at that time but it was one of the best things as I can approach each and everyone working there for handling my question bank and they were even happier to tackle those ones. Another best thing is that all will appreciate your work and try to build your confidence by indulging in every work they do.

Bad Things

There was nothing bad as such. All over experience was very good with lots of leanings.

Other Details

During lunchtime, we usually dealt with the clients and that learning was quite memorable as we discuss with our seniors the suggested legal remedies, sections and laws. Considering the facts and issues till the drafting of that case and then observing its proceeding is a long learning process with lots of enjoyment.
