The DPIIT-IPR Chair is established at Osmania University under the SPRIHA scheme of Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India.

The IPR Chair aims to promote IPR Culture and contribute to IPR research and knowledge. The DPIIT-IPR Chair at Osmania University looks forward to collaborate with academics, researchers and industry to promote effective utilization of IPRs. 

About the Opportunity

The DPIIT-IPR Chair at Osmania University, is organizing a Know Your IP series of Weekly Lectures/ Interactions/ Interviews with the primary objective of dissemination of knowledge on Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs). It will offer insights and inputs on various forms of IPRs relevant to all the stakeholders, by demystifying the fundamentals of IP and highlighting the recent developments in the Intellectual Property (IP) domain.

Week-19 of the series was successfully conducted on April 23 and was based on the theme of World IP Day: IP and Youth: Innovating for a Better Future by Mr. Ashok Ram Kumar, Founder and Managing Partner at Wordict-IP®.

The Know Your IP Week-20 Online Lecture is on the topic: IPR Value Chain: Ideation to Commercialization by Prof. (Dr.) A. V. Narsimha Rao,  Director, ICFAI Law School, Hyderabad.  

About the Resource Person

Prof A V Narsimha Rao is the Director of ICFAI Law School, Hyderabad.

He is a Post Graduate in Business Laws and Ph D in Environmental Laws. His areas of interests include the Corporate and Commercial Laws, Insurance Law, Environmental Laws, IPR Law and Banking Laws.

He has nearly 20 years of teaching and research and 20 years of industry experience. He has conceptualized the law Journals of law for the ICFAI University Press and edited the ICFAI Journal of Intellectual Property, the ICFAI Journal of Insurance Law, the ICFAI Journal of Alternative Dispute Resolution and presently editing the IUP Law Review which is published quarterly.

He has organized national and international conference, more specifically the International Conference on Insolvency and Bankruptcy Law jointly with the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India, Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India and Delaware Law School, Delaware, US (2018), the International Conference on Insurance Law and Regulations jointly with the IRDA and New Castle University, Australia (2018) and more.

Prof Rao attended the Annual meet of Association of American Law Schools, USA (2012) on invitation. He also attended the Asia Pacific Regional Meet of International Association of Law Schools in Shanghai during April 2019 and Annual General Meeting in Poland during the month of September 2019.
