Deeksha Anand, Senior Associate
Deeksha’s practice focuses on trade mark and design prosecution, including prosecuting international applications filed through the World Intellectual Property Organization, and trademark opposition and cancellation actions.
She regularly advises clients on contested matters across diverse industries, including, apparel, accessory, automobile, pharmaceutical, sports, tobacco and e-commerce. She also has experience in handling domain name disputes and transfers.
Besides her advisory practice, Deeksha also assists with the firm’s litigation and dispute resolution practice, and often appears before various judicial and quasi-judicial bodies, such as the Delhi High Court, civil district courts, the Intellectual Property Appellate Board and the Trade Marks Registry.
Urfee Roomi, Senior Associate
Urfee Roomi, Senior Associate Urfee’s practice focuses on trade mark, copyright and customs prosecution and enforcement matters, including oppositions, cancellations and litigation. He has also worked on prosecuting international applications filed through the World Intellectual Property Organization, and has experience in handling domain name disputes and also works on criminal enforcement efforts for clients.
He regularly counsels clients on both advisory and contested matters, in the apparel, luxury goods, automobile, pharmaceutical, professional sports, technology, and retail industries. Urfee also practices law before various judicial and quasi-judicial bodies, such as the civil district courts, the Delhi High Court and the Trade Marks Registry.
Shruhita Amit, Ex-Senior Associate
Shruhita’s practice focuses on trade mark and copyright prosecution, including prosecuting international applications filed through the World Intellectual Property Organization, and opposition and cancellation actions. She regularly advises clients on contested matters across diverse industries, including, apparel, accessory, automobile, pharmaceutical, sports, tobacco and e-commerce. She frequently represents clients at all kind of hearings held at the Trade Marks Registry.
Besides her advisory practice, Shruhita also assists with the firm’s litigation and dispute resolution practice, and often appears before various judicial and quasi-judicial bodies, such as the Delhi High Court, civil district courts and the Intellectual Property Appellate Board.
Course Faculty
Ankita Aich
Ankita is a graduate of ILS Law College, Pune and holds a Master’s degree in Intellectual Property Law from National Law University, Jodhpur.
She was an Assistant Manager (Legal) at Times Music, division of Bennett, Coleman and Co. Ltd (Times Group) and has also worked as a Senior Associate with Thomson Reuters.
Her keen interest in Copyright Law led her to take up the role of a Copyright Examiner at the Copyright Office, Delhi.
Rishika Rangarajan
Rishika is a lawyer with experience in academic and policy research. She worked at the Centre for Innovation, Intellectual Property and Competition as a primary researcher.
She is currently at Indian Institute for Human Settlements where she works on the legal, regulatory and institutional landscape of energy provision, distribution and consumption across the ‘urban’ in general and its larger impact on climate changes.
Ms. Sumedha Marathe
Education: Law graduate from ILS Pune, Post Graduate Diploma in IPR from NLSIU Bangalore, LLM from HNLU Raipur.
Work Experience: Lawyer at NGT Pune, Ex Assistant Professor, ILS Pune, Academic Head at Lawctopus.
Suneha Gupta
Suneha completed her LLB from Law Faculty-1, the University of Delhi in 2012.
Subsequently, in 2015, she completed her LLM in Intellectual Property Law from the University of Law and Legal Studies, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University.
She has previously worked as an Associate-Prosecution and Opposition at anovIP, Delhi and is currently a Copyright Examiner.
Waseem Shuaib Ahmed
Waseem is a lawyer working with a leading IPR law firm in Delhi. He graduated from the National University of Juridical Sciences, Kolkata (NUJS) in 2014.
He discovered his interest in IP laws during his studies at NUJS.
Today, he works on contentious trade mark, industrial design and copyright matters, apart from handling trademark opposition proceedings. He also has experience in IP licensing and transactional issues.
