The Court was told that the couple got married as per Islamic rituals earlier this year. The couple further informed the Court that although the husband appeared before the local sub-divisional magistrate (SDM) once to verify the documents, he could not appear before the authority on later occasions, as he had to go to Canada for work.
On the next date, the wife went to the SDM office in person, while the husband wanted to join the meeting virtually. However, the authorities said that he must appear in person.
The authorities told the Court that if the person appears virtually, it will be difficult for them to be certain that there is no impersonation.
