When the plea by Delhi Police came up for hearing on Thursday, Senior Counsel Vikas Pahwa, appearing for Tharoor, highlighted the delay in filing the plea besides other issues.
“The petition copy has not been served on us. They have deliberately used the email id which was suspended by them. There is 15 month delay in this,” it was submitted.
He also contended that there were orders from the lower court as well as the High Court that the records of the case should not be shared with any outside person because of apprehension of media trial.
The High Court noted this submission and also recorded the submission by Delhi Police that the documents in the case will not be supplied to anyone who is not a party to the case.
The Court then proceeded to issue notice on application for condonation of delay.
