In its resolution uploaded on the official website of the top court, the Collegium partially acceded to his request to not be transferred to the Madras High Court, as was originally proposed.
On March 15, the Collegium had proposed the transfer of Justice Chandel to the Madras High Court. By a communication of March 17, he requested reconsideration of the same, preferring a transfer to the High Courts of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Allahabad, Punjab and Haryana or Delhi instead.
