Haryana Judicial Service Examination Format

There are three stages of the Haryana Judicial Service Examination. These are:
- Prelims
- Mains
- Interview

Haryana Judicial Services Examination Preliminary Stage
The Preliminary Stage requires the candidate to attain minimum passing marks to appear for the next stage. For Haryana Judicial Services, aspirants need a minimum of 150 marks for General and 100 for Reserved Category to qualify for Mains.
[Please Note: 150 is only qualifying marks. Candidates will need to secure a place in the Cut-off List as well to appear for Mains.]

Bare Acts
To clear any Judicial services examination, Bare Acts are the key ingredients to your success. If you aren’t well versed with the language of the Bare Act, Index, Section number, the object of the section, and why the Parliament made the law in the first place, then your chances of clearing Prelims are as good as none.
Successful aspirants clearing the examination in the first attempt swear by the method of reading Bare Acts before anything else. Under no circumstances you should skip this step.
Remember candidates, you need to do the smart work as the examination pressure builds naturally when the Prelims are near.
Mock Tests
Merely reading the Bare Act won’t suffice as practicing what you know is essential. Knowledge without practice is useless.

General Knowledge & Current Affairs
You can secure your seat in the Mains if you carefully attempt the Current Affairs section. Why do we say ‘carefully’? Because there is a negative marking of 0.80 for every wrong answer.

Haryana Judicial Services Examination Mains (Written Paper)
Law
There are majorly five subjects that will take most of your time regardless of the states. These are CPC, IPC, CrPC, Evidence, and customary laws. Not only are these four subjects scoring, but most questions are asked from them.
Especially in Haryana Judicial Service Examination, Hindu Law plays a vital role. While preparing for the customary laws, know the leading case laws of essential topics.

Tricks and Tips for Haryana Judicial Services Examination
The trick is to tackle the five subjects by dividing them into parts so that you revise every day and not lose touch.
Create a list of the most important topics in each subject and start preparing them.
These subjects are lengthy and a bit of a handful, if you don’t prepare in advance. For best results, revise every night and give mock tests during the weekend. This method is beneficial to remember a lot of detail for a longer period.

While you prepare, don’t focus on memorization of concepts and finishing the syllabus. First, filter your syllabus into three areas. These are very important, important & not too important. Then, make specific notes of important topics. It will help you in answer writing.
Secondly, study properly, revise topics and understand the concepts rather than memorizing them. Take help of previous years’ question papers as they will tell you the pattern of the examination.

Language
