Top three fastest hundreds in Indian T20 League

The Indian Premier League (IPL) is the most exciting T20 competition in the world. It has everything to keep fans hooked as several international stars set the tournament alive with their performances. As the IPL has the best batters from all around the globe, several batting records are bound to get broken.

Several batters unleash their beast mode on the opposition every year and play quick-fire innings to leave the crowd stunned. In the 15-year-long history of the tournament, there have been several quick hundreds scored in the league which thoroughly kept the cricket news media and fans engaged.

On that note, let’s take a look at the top three fastest hundreds in the history of the IPL:

  1. David Miller (38 balls)

Miller scored a breath-taking 38-ball 101 playing for Punjab against the Bangalore franchise in 2013. Chasing a target of 191, Punjab were reeling at 64/4 after 9.5 overs. With 91 required from the last 39 balls, Miller unleashed his beast mode on Bangalore and played the best knock in the history of the tournament while chasing. His innings was studded with eight fours and seven sixes as Punjab won the match with two overs to spare

  1. Yusuf Pathan (37 balls)

Rajasthan were chasing a target of 213 against Mumbai in 2010 edition. They were reeling at 66/4 after 9.2 overs when Yusuf Pathan walked to the crease.

The star batter turned the game on its head with his marvellous 37-ball 100 to bring Rajasthan back into the game. However, his run out in the 18th meant that Mumbai won the match by four runs. Pathan smacked nine fours and eight sixes in his scintillating innings which is rated as the best knock of his T20 career.

  1. Chris Gayle (30 balls)
    Chris Gayle played the best innings of the IPL history in 2013 edition of the tournament. The Universe Boss played scored an unbelievable 175 off 66 balls with the help of 13 fours and 17 sixes. He brought up his hundred off just 30 balls as the Pune bowlers were smashed all around the Chinaswamy stadium in Bengaluru.
