Alteria Capital, B2B Start-ups Eye Community Initiative

The new initiative will provide an interactive platform for these businesses where they can resolve common as well as individual problems.

Alteria Capital is launching a platform called ‘The India B2B Clan’ in partnership with Infra.Market and Zetwerk. The firm originally provides loans to start-ups, and is now launching a community initiative for founders of business-to-business (B2B) start-ups to discuss strategy, and share knowledge.

This decision comes as B2B businesses are gaining increasing traction and attracting more and more funding. Ecommerce firms such as Moglix, Udaan, Infra.Market and others have seen exponential growth as B2B platforms and raised vast amounts of venture capital. The new initiative will provide an interactive platform for these businesses where they can resolve common as well as individual problems.

The platform is mainly for founders and senior executives at B2B firms, and not so much about the investors. If investors join in, it is likely the founders will pitch to them and be more formal, rather than honest conversations around problem-solving. If this happens, it will defeat the objective of the initiative.
