Pi Ventures, Stellaris Invest $750,000 In LimeChat

The AI-based platform plans to use the raised finances to strengthen its own team, while scaling up its go-to-market operations.

AI-based, chatbot start-up LimeChat has raised $750,000 in a seed funding round led by Stellaris Venture Partners, and Pi Ventures. A cohort of angel investors, including Kalyan Krishnamurthy, CEO Flipkart, and Ramakant Sharma, Dilip Khandelwal, Sujeet Kumar, were among the many who participated in this round of financing. The AI-based platform plans to use the raised finances to strengthen its own team while scaling up its go-to-market operations. LimeChat had raised a pre-seed round from Titan Capital early last year. The start-up is currently working with more than 25 D2C brands across the beauty, fashion, cosmetics, health, and wellness domains.

Founded in 2020, by AI experts from IIT Delhi, MIT, and CMU, LimeChat is a part of the pandemic-induced surge of e-commerce start-ups in India. The chatbot offers conversational experiences to customers on platforms like Facebook Messenger and WhatsApp. They wish to bring the most compelling buying experience on chat. Their long-term agenda is to build a complete tech stack that is required to usher in the revolution in conversational commerce (c-commerce), which they believe can serve as a rival to e-commerce.
