Another answer by the Ministry in response to a question by Vadodara MP Ranjanben Dhananjay Bhatt stated that over the past four financial years (FYs), including the current one, a total of 43,516 cases of Goods and Services Tax (GST) evasion were registered.
These cases involved evasion amounting to ₹2,68,537 crore detected by the authorities. However, during the same period, only ₹76,333 crore could be successfully recovered.
Furthermore, in these four FYs, 1,020 individuals involved in GST evasion were arrested.
